Leopards and Hyena, Peaceful Coexistence

This image is part of the unusual sequence of events previously mentioned by John. First one, then two young male leopards hung out with this hyena, even laying down in close proximity. Leopards and hyenas are natural enemies. Leopards are also highly solitary, so it is quite unusual to see two adults together. They may be siblings.

After this, a large, mortally injured Nile Monitor Lizard fell from a tree near our vehicle. One of the leopards then came searching for the lizard he had undoubtedly cached in the tree, seeming quite puzzled when he did not find it, never thinking to search the ground.
