Kurdish women in Birecik, Turkey

Birecik, Turkey

We visited Birecik in april/may 2013. Though Birecik is very close to the Syrian border,we did not notice any extra military activity or nervousness while staying in this area. We always felt very safe and the Kurdish people where very friendly!

Excellent portrait, Lies! I lived in Turkey for eight years and traveled throughout the Southeast, when Syria wasn't an issue (although there were other conflicts in the region that made travel there difficult), but I must say I always found the Kurds very hospitable people. V.
