Joop's Dog Log - Saturday June 12

This is oil on canvas.
I was painted! By a real artist, a professional.
His name is Klaas Weremeus Buning. He lives and works in Pieterbierum, Friesland.
And he's the boyfriend of one of my other human's best friends. So he's OK.
I had to pose for him of course, and this is what he made of my 'difficult' right side,
the side of my face my human finds so hard to photograph. What do you think?

Here's the big painting, framed and all: http://www.pbase.com/image/30034774

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel
1/15s f/4.5 at 34.0mm iso400 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I think this is amazing! You are immortal dear Joop, your essence sealed forever in oil and turpentine! He did very well with your "difficult" side!

Goede morgen Joop. Zo dat is geweldig mooi hoe KLAAS jouw op doek hebt gezet. Een fantastisch mooi portret hoor. Ik heb net naar je site gekeken en er zit ook een schitterende lijst om heen. Heel mooi. Groetjes DIEN. Fijn weekend.

Moin Joop,we just saw bosslady`s chin fall down..you are living on another level of sight: now we also wnat to know if we have "difficult" sides too! We guess bosslady never spent a second to think of such complicated stuff...you are surroinded by real artist! We only have a little black and white "painting" created by a member of the German Basenji club: it shows Ali, Pelle`s Dad and Bosse`s Dad who passed away 2 years ago..is it a big one hanging on the wall?

Whoa, Dawg, you hang out with some pretty darned talented humans. I think this is brilliant! We all know that yr gonna live forever thru the wonderful photos yr human has taken, but now you`ve been immortalized in paint on canvas too. Nothing could be more fitting, Joop.

Wow, bosslady created over the years a kind of "family" wall showing many photos of our friends from everywhere in the world, we have too much windows and glass in our little house, not enough wall....we wonder if she would put off her Margrittes....

Its a wonderful painting that shows your thoughtful side, Joop. I think you look younger in your photographs, especially with your fabulous tail writing words of dog joy in the air. Congratulations! on being so well-honored.

wow, Joop, this is fantastic. This gives me a view of you that is totally different from the photographs, so it is wonderful for your humans to have this. It is so much more thoughtful, and older, and wiser, than the pictures, which are usually so fully of coiled action! It is up to your humans to decide whether "you" have been "captured" but I`m impressed with the style. -Sarah.

Lieve Joop, leuk dat je zoveel positieve reacties krijgt, vinden wij ook leuk om te horen.
We wisten niet dat je zo,n bekende hond bent. We give you the highest vote from Pietersbierum (the painting is by the way 40 x 30 cm). Verder hopen we dat je bazen een mooie huwelijksdag hebben meegemaakt en opgaan voor de volgende 12 jaar. The painter and his wife.

This is a truly wonderful painting of you Joop!! Excellent artist, and the perfect subject. I can`t say as I ever noticed a bad side to you, though! :) our mom would love to have a "real" painting of us also someday.. but for now the digital version is quite enough.
