Joop's Dog Log - Wednesday June 09

It`s warm in Paterswolde.
We hit 31 C yesterday, and today it may get warmer.
Too warm to run with the bicycle, too warm to chase birds and squirrels,
almost too warm to jump up for a cookie...
And it`s only early June. Summer hasn`t even started yet.
So what is this: Indian Spring? African wind? The eclips of the planet Venus?
Or is it global warming?
Is the sea level rising already, are the polar ice caps melting away?
And if they are, whose fault is that, is it human activity
or is it nature taking its course, are we heading for a reversed ice age?
Boy, I'm warm....

Moin Joop...it wasn`t THAT warm here, our afterwork evening walk was accompanied by a nice wind. Right now the sky turns to dark and I can hear the anounced thunder roaring.... sitting save in my office then it will be ok, my Iran customers bring enough heat. Well, talking about this crazy weather behaviour... seems we started too late and too few (!) to act careful with our mother earth.Even if I know that I cannot stop the sins of the past I will go on to be nice to the environment and to tell everybody- let it be much more expensive or less comfortable or let they call me a Zombie or the "last genuine Hippie". What we know is in our brain, you cannot work against in cognitive ignorance. Dear Joop, B&P are better of, they so not suffer from heat, only old Bosse walks a little slower... please let us know what the fab 3 from Brazil say... Love DKBP

Goedemorgen Joop. Wat was het warm he de laatste twee dagen. Inderdaad veel te warm om te rennen en andere sportieve dingen te doen. Doe maar even rustig aan dat doe ik ook. Veel plezier nog vandaag hoor. Groetjes DIEN.

Whatever the cause, enjoy this summer`s day. You know we don`t get them too often here in cold, rainy and wet Holland.

Good Morning, Joop! It`s hot over here, too. I think it`s going to be a really hot summer over here (don`t know about there). It`s been an incredibly dry winter and spring.

Really? We`re freezing here... Too bad! But unfortunately I don`t know the reason for all the warm that you are feeling there! I added you!

Might just be an especially warm June day, ya think? Oh, I`ve no doubt of the damage we`re doing to this planet, and the reality of global warming. But if you check temperature records for, say, the last hundred years, you`ll likely find a lot of 31 degree days on June 8. We also have to remember that hot days just happen sometimes. It`s not always the fault of George W. Bush. It just seems that way.

Hi Joops, a green background always makes you look so dapper. They teach environmental awareness and conservation constantly in school, but nobody wants to pay for public transportation or bike paths when they grow up. Humans should have our looooong memories.

"Hey, Joop! We´ve got some ideas about it. We thought it would be a good idea to ponder it between we three (maybe ask Luciana too) and then explain our thoughts about it. :)" Flô

Wow, that is warm for your area! We`ve had a cool spring, but this warmth is to be expected, usually lasts for a week or two, and we have 3 or 4 of these `heat waves` over the summer. On a bad summer it just stays for two months. Can you tell I don`t like HOT!

it`s very hot here, too. I played golf the other day and just about didn`t make it around the course...gallons of water needed.
You take it easy in the heat, dear Joop...and tell your humans to keep your water nice and cold, though I bet they do that already.
Did you watch the Reagan stuff on TV. He was very popular as a president...but he did some strange stuff, too. Like the Iran Contra affair with Oliver North. Bush is starting to compare himself to Reagan...the whole idea of a moral core. It would be a disaster if people believed that crap...Reagan could speak in complete sentences and had the ability to really like and communicate with people. They both cut taxes...but when the deficit got too large, Reagan had the intelligence and flexibility to recind some of the tax cuts. Bush is so ideological, he won`t move from a position even if the whole world shows him, empirically, that he is wrong.
My country, which I passionately love, is in an ideological crisis...and it began with the crisis in leadership in the whitehouse with the election of bush and then the neocons he appointed to critical posts. What a mess we are in here...and when the US is in a mess, it tends to spread like a virus to the rest of the world.

Ann, you said it all! It is a frightening time for us in the US. I don`t know what going to happen, but let me tell you, a new puppy doesn`t hurt! Make you smile right away!
