Joop's Dog Log - Wednesday Apr 28

No dogs allowed.
I was kicked out. Told to wait outside. No dogs! They should know better here.
This is `Kredo` (Credo), a church sponsored activities center.
My human had to go in for an appointment. I was with him.
But when we walked through this door a few humans inside got really exited.
They looked at me like I was a demon hellhound.
"Geen honden", they shouted, "No dogs", and they meant business.
I was ready to make a stand of course, and my human spoke up for me, but he had to give in.
He needed to talk to these humans. So I was escorted out.
And here I am. Waiting for my human.
No dogs allowed. Sounds like a Jose Feliciano song. It`s getting worse everywhere.
Beaches, parks, city streets, footpaths, shops, malls, restaurants, farms,
church buildings. No dogs.
Us dogs are going to be outcasts soon in The Netherlands. My feelings are hurt.
My human will have to come up with a lot of cookies to make up for this...!

Goedemorgen JOOP. GR. DIEN.

Oh, it`s like that over here, too. We rent our houses and no one wants to rent to people with dogs. I`t like everyone`s forgotten how much we mean to each other`s lives. Or how important dogs are to human`s happiness. Fah!

You know, Joop, it`s humans, but not the way you might think. I think humans have become irresponsible dog humans. They raise these big old mean dogs with no manners. Dogs that bark at kids, refuse to walk with their human, in general act badly in public. Now it`s not the dog`s fault! It`s the human who never took the time to teach the dog that this is the way to act outside their yard. And darn it, you and guys like you with good manners are the ones who have to pay for it. It`s not fair! And what else is new, eh?

Credo in portuguese mean a whole different thing you know!!! :) Hey, don`t worry. Here in Brazil is the same thing. No dogs allowed everywhere!! My human always try to pass trough without anyone seeing me because I`m very little. Sometimes it works... the others, I have to stand outside all alone... Well, that`s life my friend. At least we have humans that love us very much!! Take care Joop!! Your doggie friend, Nicki.

Oh, poor Joop! They should have realized that you, of all dogs, were not going to cause any trouble. But the Nannish One makes a good point -- much of it boils down to irresponsible humans...

Makes one wonder what the world is coming to. I would definitely think a few extra cookies are in order, Joop. What if you had been a seeing eye dog...would they have made you wait outside. Humans are very short sighted.

Guten Abend, Ihr Beiden! It is the first time since we know each other that I found no gap to post a little message to you and now the flog guestbook is dead or tired or already in hibernation again! We just had a wonderful chill out walk in the sunny fields anf found time to relax with the help of the wonderful colors and silence of our Güsterfields..and saw the first time ever a nearly new born little deer in the meadow.....it was crying loud when his mother ran away to put us on a false way. Hope they came together later.
Concering your feeling to be discriminated....in Germany is is declared by the dog-holder`s law never to take dogs into churches, museums, theatres, cemetries, hospitals etc. very brave of your human to try and ignore. Dont` feel sad...one question left: what sond of good old Jose Feliciano do you mean? Good night babes!

Churches are suppose to be about love, how can they leave us out? We go to church once a year, when my mom`s church, Unitarian, has a celebration for us. We are very proud and all have baths. Bronte get a special recognition because of her background as a rescue dog. We do not go to services, but if we are with my mom, we go during the week. Some people do not have their priorities on straight is what I say. Hope you do get some wonderful treats and snuggles!

We are a couple of big, no, not really, HUGE dogs. You guys k now how we are (quiet, cute and lazy) but people get scared at us all the time. So, i know the feeling. We get kicked out of everywhere. But our humans always stand in for us. People just dont know how to treat animals nowadays... big hugs!

My sympathies Joop, there`s far too much of this rubbish here in the UK, infact I`ve been looking at your log thinking that it seems much freer over there.

I understand you Joop. But believe me, some humans are also not allowed in some places. It sucks! ANd I know that you`re more polite than most people inside there, so...Hypocrites! Don`t worry, I hope your human gives you plenty of cookies!
Take care, beautifull dog!

Joop, don`t pout, it`s not becoming. You know he would take you if he could! Luke often gets to go with his Dad. Dad calls him a "job dog." (That means he gets to go with him on a job.. . . hahaha.)

That`s too bad. :-( A few years ago, I used to have a nice house with two lovely wiener dogs and a big back yard. I took the doggies everywhere, even to work with me sometimes! I am divorced now and I cannot afford a house on my own so I have to rent an apartment. And, you know, most apartment buildings don`t allow dogs anymore. Some allow cats, or dogs under 20 lbs. It breaks my heart. I really want a doggie, but I can`t have one in my apartment building.
I think this is a worldwide phenomenon. Dogs are becoming less accepted. I don`t know why. And it makes me sad...

Hi Joop, well, you are not alone. The group that is being kicked out is growing. There are already the old and disabled people, people from other countries, children, smokers, every insect, natural flavours, analog photografers and old school bakerys in this group. So if you are lucky, the kicked-out-group will outgrow the rest. And we will see, who is going to win!

Joop, sweetie pup, if all humans were responsible owners and used the scooper after you guys and encouraged their dogs NOT to bark at every thing that moves, then urban life with dogs could be so much more pleasant. I love dogs, but I don't love the humans that don't respect my right to peace, quiet, and a poopless public space. Ok, so now I'll have to go down to "dog beach" and make a photo of it just for you....honey boy (as my sister-in-law calls her dog, Auggie).

One housing development I looked at had a restriction on the number of companion animals a homeowner could live with -- marked THAT one off my list!

I hope you got a bunch of cookies, and I hope that the cookies cure your hurt feelings, Joop -- you're welcome in my home anyday!
