Joop's Dog Log - Friday Apr 09

It's Good Friday today,
or Goede Vrijdag, or Charfreitag, or 'he hagia kai megale paraskeue', or Holy Friday.
It's the anniversary of the crucifixion of Jesus.
Maybe they'll call it Mel Gibson Day in a few years...
Most humans in my country have a holiday. Not my human.
And not the flower humans either.
Every year on Good Friday there's a real big flowers and plants market
in the streets of Groningen city, close to my town.
They say it's the biggest flower market in Europe.
The whole city center looks like a nursery.
And there'll be two or three hundred thousand visitors, many of them from Germany.
They all want plants.
So I'm staying right here today, away from the crowds.
Have a Good Friday!

Sounds like a good plan, Joop. I sure love flowers, but to be among two or three hundred thousand humans? Aaaaaaiiiiii! Worse than a bad case of fleas, at least to me. I`m like you, dude. Give me the wide outdoors, any day of the week. Have a good weekend, Joop, and may all yr Easter Bunnies be made with real bacon.

Good Friday to you, too, Joop! I don`t know if you have the Easter Bunny there in The Netherlands, but my human grandma gave me some good advice: don`t chase the Easter Bunny until after he`s filled up my Easter basket!

I don`t celebrate many holidays, either, with the exception of my birthday (!), New Years, and Thanksgiving (my favorite holiday; how can one go wrong with being thankful, and then enjoying good food and drink with good friends?). Good times. The other holidays are just religious ones, and since I`m not religious, I don`t care for them. But, of course, I always love a day off from work, so GOD BLESS THE CATHOLICS!!!!
Enjoy your day at home, Joop! It`s sunny in Seattle. It looks sunny there, too! YAY!

Hi Joop, actually I love crowds. I worm my way into the middle of them, looking for a dangling hand to nudge and nudge until he pets me. I do that at Petco, a pet supply store here where dogs can GO INSIDE!! So great! There are treats and toys everywhere! You look like you found a smell in that picture. Hope it was a good one! -Sarah.

Happy Easter, Joop. Have a peaceful weekend. I've just come back from a lovely walk with the humans - it's spring-like and warm in the Peak District. Max
