Farris windmill

Dearborn, Mich.

Blades from the Farris windmill stand against a blue spring sky in Greenfield Village, part of The Henry Ford museum,
Dearborn, Mich. The windmill is thought to be the oldest surviving windmill in the United States. It was built in the mid-1600s
and operated in Cape Cod, Mass., using the wind to operate grain milling machinery. The windmill was purchased and moved
to Greenfield Village in 1935. Another photo from Greenfield Village is below.
