The Beauty of Omani Mosques

As I was searching for pictures to work on since I’m having a problem getting out in Washington for photo-taking, for some reason I suddenly remembered that I hadn’t finished my Oman galleries, specifically the many mosques I had photographed while on trips there in 2014 and 2015. I guess I was struck by how different they were to mosques in Riyadh (especially in the Diplomatic Quarter), which tend to be fairly plain and built in a desert architectural style, although there are certainly exceptions to that. I am copying in a few pictures from my main Oman galleries as part of this theme.

I agree with Joe about the thinking behind the buildings, but your pictures are outstanding and in fact are great enough to make me think about my opinion.. Now you're home for 'black Friday', did you go looking for a new camera.

Very repetitive, boring. Seem designed by an architect wearing boxing gloves. Time for new ideas and concepts, people. You know, like entering the 21st century. And, I don't mean just the architecture!
