Istanbul Revisited

After living in Ankara for four years, then moving to Okinawa for three, I'm living in Turkey once again, much to my delight. This is a gallery in progress that I update everytime I visit this great city, one of my favorite in the world. The first page of this gallery is sort of an overview of the Istanbul I know; the other pages are more detail of certain places and various other images. Enjoy!

When I'm viewing these photos the Turkish music seems to echo in my mind, because your presentation is filled with lively rhythm that makes it seem more like a documentary film than just a photo album. You shoot with feelings !

Your pictures of Istanbul are wonderful. I am a Russian Orthodox priest in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania USA, my son and I were there twice. We were blessed to be at the Litrugy at the Ecumenical Patriarch's compound. Your picture album is the best I have ever seen of the city. My son and I just loved it there and wish we could have stayed for at least a month or more. A lot of your pictures brought back a lot of good memories. Thank you! Father George

It has been almost 40 years since last I was in Istanbul, I was on an Aircraft Carrier and we sat at anchor in the middle of the Bosporus for the better part of a week. Next to Athens this was my favorite stop while in the Mediterranean. These are great shots, well composed, and good light control. Thank you for bringing back memories. The shores on both sides have changed, but the old favorites are still there, Aya Sofya, the Blue Mosque, and the street vendors. Great stuff Helen, Thanks for sharing. V! Sherwood.
