Andrew came by to comfort Queenie after the attack

Andrew stopped by in the middle of his walks on Sunday to see how Queenie was doing after getting attacked by an unleashed pit bull in the park. She was happy to see him and get as many treats as she could from him.

We went to the US Park Police district office to report the attack, although I’m not sure they’ll do anything except start a file on the pit bull. I also called DC Animal Control this morning, and an officer just called me back to get the details of what happened and request any pictures I have of the dog and its owner, both of which I sent to her, along with videos Andrew had taken of the dog roaming around the park and an altercation he had with the owner. Animal Control is going to patrol the park several times a day in an attempt to locate the pit bull owner, so that was good news at least.

Thanks to everybody for their well wishes for Queenie! I'm hoping she has a quick recovery.

Hopefully they will do something. Glad to hear she's not too worse for wear!

Oh my!!! What a horrible thing to have happen to your girl. Queenie deserves lots of treats to help forget her ordeal. The pit bull owner needs to pay all the vet bills and also give you the peace of mind of knowing its rabies vaccine status. This is a dangerous dog, not because of the breed alone but because of what the owner does. Next time it could kill a small dog or hurt a human child. Hope they find this individual and are able to charge him. Poor Queenie.

Here's hoping Queenie continues to recover physically and emotionally, surrounded by caring friends like Andrew. It's also encouraging to know the attack has been formally reported....V

Hopefully that's the last time that dog attacks a dog.

A very heartwarming image, and I can imagine the expression on Queenie's face.
I'm so glad you filed a complaint with the concerning department. They called you back, that's a very good sign. Hope they'll find this dog and owner very soon. Fingers crossed. Speedy recovery for Queenie ! ~VVVVV+++~

Andrew sounds like a very cool guy.

Unfortunately some dog owners believe that every park is a dog park. It makes it dangerous for others and their pets. Sorry that Queenie had to go through this.

Poor baby, I'm sure she'll be marked for a while and will fear that park! With your good cares and love, she'll go through it, but it may need a lot of treats.
