What appears to be some kind of stone or dirt wall just beyond the end of the lawn is actually a wall of ice and snow, left over from our ice storm of two months ago. I can’t imagine how it survived our abnormally high temperatures of last week, but some of it is still there as well as other places on the National Mall.
