Velociraptor

Velociraptor had feathers and was about the size of turkey, but didn’t fly. With long arms, clawed hands and a large sickle-shaped foot claw, it was a formidable hunter. It lived in what is now Mongolia and China. The model was made with horse chestnut bark, acorns, driftwood, lotus seed, devil’s thorn fruit, cactus spines and other plant material.

Taken at the US Botanic Garden’s annual holiday display, this year titled ‘Season’s Greenings: Dino-Mite!’. Model trains run on several tracks around the exhibit area.

I'm not so sure I would have been a birdwatcher back then!

It's really incredible that they used all the plant material to make the skin of these animals and they all look so real. I like this point of view, that the animal is not even looking at the train ~Nothing bothers him. VVVV~

With their fearsome reputation, I would want to be safely inside a train. Can you imagine taking a train ride to view live dinosaurs? Inevitably, Jurassic Park comes to mind.
