Tim, Queenie and I went to the Franciscan Monastery in Northeast DC to see if there were any butterflies or skippers enjoying the flowers. There used to be lots of both, but in recent years, hardly any. Much to my surprise, I was able to photograph three butterflies, including this monarch, as well as some skippers, which refused to pose for pictures, but oddly I didn’t see a single bee.
