We tried to train Queenie to stop at corners and not just walk across the street, but she’s learned the lesson too well and insists on walks that have lots of corners, and heads for all of them, regardless of whether we’re going to cross that street or not. She sometimes goes on “walks” with Tim where they literally go in a square at an intersection on Constitution Avenue, and she expects a treat at all four corners. Dogs are smarter than we give them credit for.
