Sole catch

We could hear birds everywhere, but they were hard to find now that the trees have so many leaves. This blue jay was the only bird I managed to photograph during our two afternoons at the arboretum. Tim, however, was constantly on the lookout for birds and didn’t pay much attention to the azaleas ;-).

The azalea tree, posted earlier:

Great shot of the Bluejay! Despite their abundance I've found them to be very elusive when it comes to photographing.

I didn't realise that Tim was that keen a birder, overlooking those spectacular blooms.

Lovely! If you don't have the Merlin app in your phone you may want to try it. It will hear the birds you hear and identify them for you. After you install the free app you also install a file of bird sounds from your area. Very enjoyable.
