Remembering Sahraa

It seems strange to be starting the new year without Sahraa, who gamely traveled around the world with us for 12 years and passed away in August. I thought I had some pictures of her that I hadn’t posted, but this is the only one from the past that I could find, perhaps not surprising given her aversion to any kind of camera, even in a cell phone. I do have one taken the day before she died, but I think it shows the worry in her eyes, whereas this one shows her at her happiest, when Tim was petting her.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly unsharp.

Coming in for a landing, posted earlier:

This image is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. Heartbreaking because Sahraa is now at the Rainbow Bridge. Heartwarming because she gave you (and all of us who followed her adventures) many, many fond memories. Thank you for posting this image. She seems so happy here. Sahraa was loved. And she loved you both. This gallery keeps her memory alive. As long as she is in your heart, Sahraa will never really be gone. Hers was a life well lived.

She is definitely not forgotten; she was such a beautiful dog, a real character, and led a fascinating life, surely one of the best-travelled dogs I know of, anyway. We keep those good memories of our pets close and never forget them.

Wishing you a very good 2023.
