Pop-ups on the canal

I thought it was interesting to see the modern additions (pop-ups is what they call construction on the roofs of houses in DC) to the beautiful old houses on the Grand Canal.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly unsharp.

An incredible sight. It seems amazing that they were built like that. V

Nowhere else to go, I guess. Amazes me how these houses have survived on the water for so long. Great shot.V
