Coexistence

Most dogs around here go crazy when they see a squirrel, especially in the park, but Sahraa just ignores them. When we got back from Riyadh, Tim tried to get her to chase them, but she really wasn’t interested and would rather get petted. So when squirrels like this one are in our yard, she couldn't care less.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by PBase are decidedly
unsharp.

At work on the lantana, posted earlier:

It's really annoying when a dog barks at squirrels. We have so many of them. She's a good doggie!

Maybe the squirrels know Sahraa is a friend. She has the best spot too. V

Look how chill she is, Della and Tug would have gone nuts. V

Sahraa obviously has loftier pursuits to contemplate and being petted is certainly one. Appreciate her restful pose here and the title too.

You're lucky! Kodi is fanatical about chipmunks and Callie wants to chase the bunnies. :-)

I can understand Sahraa quite well, why run after something so small when you can enjoy a wonderful massage, I would also know what is best Haha, BV

The squirrel isn't taking any chances of her changing her mind :) V

What a cool shot! Totally opposite of my Magpie.

Sahraa is a smart dog. We had a small dog some time ago and she tore ligaments in her back legs twice whilst chasing squirrels and then slamming on the brakes as the squirrel ran up a tree. Two hefty Vet bills.

She shows no interest. Nice shot.

Resting under a tree looks like a much better idea.

she realised that it was a no win situation, beautiful scene and picture!

the squirrel is leaving nothing to chance however, and seems quite safe and content well above any threat..

I bet her blood pressure is lower than that of her chase-happy, squirrel crazed, furry, canine friends also.

What a beautiful scene, nicely composed. V

I'm glad to hear that she isn't interested in squirrel chasing, Cleo isn't either. What a lovely shot this is. V
