B(ay Street) is also for bumblebee

I had tried to get a shot of this bee from across the street but it was just too far away. Then I waited for a break in the traffic to shoot from the middle of the street, but that never came. So we went back another day, and as Tim drove by, I snapped.

The Capitol Hill Alphabet Animal Art Project, funded by the District of Columbia government and executed by the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop, comprises animals and insects on lamp posts and street signs representing the name of the relevant street, something like when a parent would tell their child, "G St... G is for Grasshopper." Over the years the project was expanded to include 20 such decorations in SE Capitol Hill, although one of them has unfortunately disappeared. Some of the pictures here also appeared in my scavenger hunt gallery as well.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

At 17mph it was certainly a high speed capture. Nicely done.

was the speed of the bumblebee lol, no ticket for sure, great shot!

Sometimes it takes two to get the shot! I like how the leaves are seen through the wing.
