Another section of mural at the Pepco substation. I must admit I don’t know who the musician is, but the “photograph” is of 4th Street SW from 1949, and I do know it looks nothing like that now. In fact, much of Southwest DC was demolished to make way for a freeway and urban "development." Such a pity to have lost all those old buildings.

Local artists Kaliq Crosby and Rose Jaffe recently decorated the walls of a new Pepco substation in Southwest Washington with murals of DC icons Marvin Gaye, congressional Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton and famous statesman Frederick Douglas along with other beautiful images, some of which I’ll post individually.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.
