Lockdown concerts

Every Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. for several months now, our neighborhood has been treated to a performance by French-born harmonica ace Frédéric Yonnet, who has lived on Capitol Hill since 2001 and been a fixture at DC performing arts venues while touring all over the world. In the past year, he’s headlined New York’s Blue Note jazz club, performed at the Dubai Jazz Festival and recorded a pair of songs for the soundtrack of “The Irishman.”

It was impossible to get a wider shot of the whole scene, but many neighbors come out and line the sidewalks and sit on their porches as Yonnet and his group perform on the top floor of the house he’s renovating (at left, but not visible in the picture). It has provided a welcome diversion during our months-long lockdown.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Great visual appeal with the green and blue, white clouds and of course, people! The concert must be a wonderful experience.

What a generous spirit to treat your neighbourhood with his performances. Music certainly soothes the soul.

I guess it happens around the world since we see that happening in our streets too. Things are getting more normal from this weekend on. We can travel again in our own county and from 15 june we can cross borders again. Hope it will stay stabil.
