Woman with goldfinches

Another photograph I quite liked in the “Women: A Century of Change” exhibit at National Geographic.

The sign accompanying it reads: A woman draped in a red chadri carries goldfinches on her head in Kabul, Afghanistan. Thomas J. Abercrombie, 1968

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Odd bird out, posted earlier

Definitely thought provoking.

The more you look at this photo the more you can interpret. Besides the obvious "caged" comparison is that the pleats of the chadri mimic bird feathers. Thank you for sharing this most interesting photo.

A most interesting presentation at first I could not figure out what all that red was about
after reading I can see her figure,
Nice fine Helen.
