Medusa and me

Stone-carved Medusa head in the ancient Greek sanctuary of Didyma, located on the coast of Ionia, the present-day Turkish province of Aydın.

*****

I’ve decided I should get back to this gallery after a break of almost two years. I still have a lot of pictures from our first assignment to Turkey, 1996-2000, before I had a digital camera, although armed with my trusty Sony was easily able to post pictures online in other galleries during our second tour there, from 2003 to 2006 (and beyond due to my working for a newspaper in Istanbul).

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

I too found Nick's comment induced a chuckle. This is a wonderful shot and I can imagine how interesting and intriguing your time in Turkey must have been. V

Nice to see you cracking a smile, whereas Medusa is merely cracked.
