Vaguely familiar

This is a pterodactyl, or flying reptile, which vaguely reminds me of some bird from the present day. Ironically, we both tried to photograph it on our first visit with the Z7 and Sony, but the best picture was from my iPhone on our second trip there.

*****

The “dinosaur exhibit” -- as everybody calls it, although it’s much more than that -- in the newly reopened fossil hall at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History is fascinating.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

The contortionist, posted earlier:

Interesting location for it, but certainly well captured. Funny how the iPhone can sometimes work out better. Don't tell Nikon. :-) VV

It turned out perfectly - and what a marvelous display. V

s Stellar's Jay looks a bit like this, at least with it's feathers fluffed up....however suspect this is a pterodactyl, doubtless a scary creature in its day..

Have to admit, the phone did the job. Such a fascinating display.

I have frequently found that my phone takes the best pictures in certain situations.
