Taken outside the Diplomatic Quarter, homes like these are built in the less exclusive neighborhoods, where houses are gigantic and literally palaces. In the ritzier areas, this would have been a single residence, but it’s actually three together separated by high walls.
Every house has a water tank in its roof, which occupants usually enclose in order to help cool the water down given the 110 degree F and higher daytime temperatures. I remember when we first moved into our house, it was impossible to get any cool, let alone cold, water. We asked the embassy to remedy the situation, which they did, sort of.
Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
