Main altar, at last

I don’t know why, but I never photographed the main altar close up when we were here before. This time I did as I think it makes for an impressive scene.

*****

We decided to pay another visit to the basilica because we felt we hadn’t seen it all when we met Long and his wife Katherine there in April. It’s really a magnificent church that took almost 100 years to complete and draws visitors from all over the world. I’ll be posting pictures mainly of features we missed the first time around.

Best to view in "Original" or “Auto” because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.
