Variety

My account just got hit with hundreds of pages of spam comments, so I’m sorry if I miss any from my Pbase friends. I wrote to Pbase and have also changed my setting to only allow comments from paid Pbase accounts (as opposed to just Pbase accounts) so I’ll see if that stops it. Meanwhile, I wish I knew how to just delete hundreds of pages of comments…

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

We thought about going to see the famous Japanese cherry blossoms at the Tidal Basin on Saturday, but peak bloom is Monday and already the place was literally packed, with parking nonexistent, streets near the Mall gridlocked and bridges to Virginia (from where there’s a view) jammed. So we decided to go instead to the National Arboretum to see their large collection of cherry trees as well as their magnolias, both of which were in full bloom. It may not have been as spectacular as the Tidal Basin, but it certainly was a lot more peaceful, and beautiful as well.

Showy cherry blossoms, posted earlier:

I also got dozens of the same kind of spam messages (fortunately not hundreds) this evening. What an annoyance to have to deal with that garbage. The upside is that the spam got me to look back at some of my older photos that I haven't viewed in a while.

These spammed X-rated links were from a number of different new Pbase accounts opened just today. Hopefully, this doesn't continue on Pbase. But I also said similar way back when I accidently first stumbled across some of the Hard Core Porn images that are allowed to be posted on Pbase. I guess what happens now concerning the current spam attack will depend on how Slug and Emily respond to their "regular" photographers being harassed.

Meanwhile, I'm amazed to see all the beautiful Spring flowers in your area. How lovely. It still looks like Winter here. We still have only bare branches and brown grass.

yes I too suffered a deluge of spam, although nowhere near the amount you suggest...hopefully pbase management tightens up security in the future....at least the messages received here were apparently from sex sites, and not from political or corporate religion sources!!...as for deleting so many pmails, best make sandwiches and a pot of tea, and get clicking...

That's awful, Helen. They have other problems to work out like why I'm getting notifications that I have messages from 2005!
