Just an unprepared test shot

The very first picture I took with my new camera. I was just standing out in front trying to figure out what I could photograph since everything was in shade, and this finch landed right in front of me, I was totally unprepared but snapped this anyway, and in fact it isn’t sharp zoomed in at all, but such a pretty bird, am posting it anyway. I thought I had set it up for RAW images, too, but hadn’t. Focus also wasn't set properly. Oh well. I guess I have a lot to learn!

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

You're off to a good start. I think that's a purple finch. I have lots of them visiting. I think it is in focus...perhaps selecting the bird and sharpening it a bit more you might be surprised!
