'The People's House'

The White House, although the official residence of the US president, is known as “The People’s House,” which would appear to be a misnomer nowadays. When we first moved to Washington in 1984, there was only one fence that you could approach to take pictures through. Now there are five and a constant security presence.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Over the top, posted earlier:

1/125s f/10.0 at 70.0mm iso1000 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

The current resident seems to be obsessed with fences. How many of these fences are new??? The holiday decorations are lovely. Unfortunately, in this image, that display seems to be very private. With the presence of all theses fences, currently photographing the "people's house" kind of reminds me of doing photography at a zoo. Still, very well shot with good clarity and DOF.

for a People's House it seems neither open nor welcoming...distressing how the world still operates..
