We don’t have beautiful vistas of fall color on Capitol Hill, just individual trees in people’s yards or in tree boxes on the sidewalk, so I appreciate it wherever I find it. Sahraa and I pass this tree every evening on our walk, and it’s situated perfectly to catch the setting sun.
The Washington Post had described fall in DC this year as “muted” due to unseasonably warm temperatures in October and too much rain in the summer, but this tree, at least, doesn’t look muted to me at all.
