Dogwood on a hill

This was taken in a different part of the vast arboretum, close to the Anacostia River, which we were trying to get to but couldn’t. There weren’t any azaleas in sight, but it was a quiet, beautiful area. We saw some robins and a cardinal, who refused to come out of the shade and hid behind leaves (so no good pictures of him).

Really stands out among its peers. Nice how it spirals upwards. V

My eyes go immediately to the dogwood and the graceful arc of the flowers. Nice shot.

lots of dogwood blossoms currently around my neighbourhood sport white blossoms, yet none have such a dynamic form..
