The photographic sherpa

We went out to the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center in Laurel, Maryland, not far from the District. It was pleasant walking around the extensive grounds, although the only birds we saw were some geese in their lake, ducks way off in the distance, and a kestrel and screech owl in the headquarters.

Tim is very good about lugging around my heavier gear, but he doesn’t ever carry this much at one time. I had been putting on shoes in the car when he got it all together. He also wanted me to bring my tripod, which I used but absolutely detest, so he got to carry it.

LOLOLOL You got one, too!!! I got to show my hubby that he's not the only "pack mule" to quote him. Guys like ours are keepers.

He's a saint. I got to feel guilty about making my "sherpa" carry my gear and switched to micro 43 stuff. It's still not all that lightweight when you take a couple of bodies and lenses, but it does weigh less. We were, by the way, just talking about visiting this area because there's a naval air museum there that Bill would like to see.

You're lucky to have a dedicated assistant with a strong neck. With that gear you are ready for anything- happy shooting.
