Disarray

Although there is an attempt to keep Congressional Cemetery maintained, obviously some work still needs to be done. This headstone is dated 1847.

Bad underground makes these things happen even with newer graves

Sad scene, granite looks good but does not send up to wet conditions well.

I've never been in an older cemetery where there wasn't some damage. This one is beautiful and so is the photo. V.

seems the ground gave way under the heavy memorial....no wonder with all the digging here....maintaining such a large site must be problematic...
