There was an orchid exhibit titled “orchids: A MOMENT” at the Smithsonian’s Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, which I slipped away from work to see. It was fairly small, arranged along an interior wall, and most of the orchids were like 6 feet above my head. In any case, I took a few pictures closer to the ground since I had braved the huge crowds heading for the National Mall to get there. The city is overrun with people, almost all roads are closed, and it’s just a circus – I had to walk 10 blocks just to get back to the Metro, which was only two blocks away. I think I’ll be staying home for the next few days.
I had wanted an opportunity to use the 105mm micro lens again, but judging by most (or maybe all) of my results, I still have a lot to learn!
