One view of the inauguration

We went to the National Botanic Garden again today, but due to traffic and a lack of parking because of the impending inauguration on Friday, had to park quite a distance away, and passed the US Capitol on our way to the botanic garden.

I could say this is a personal view of the inauguration, but I could also say that it was one of the only views of the Capitol available, with a huge number of portable toilets on the Capitol grounds. I guess they’ll be ready for the million fans who are expected to attend. We live only 11 blocks from here, but I won’t be participating, unless to take pictures, which I seriously doubt given the enormous difficulties involved. And because I would hate for anybody to think I was actually celebrating.

Inside looking out, posted earlier:

Love it! The port-a-potties fit right in. In all seriousness though the colors are very lovely. V

The capitol dome looks resplendent, but I'm not celebrating or watching either. I like the POV with the "Johns" V

This view of the Capitol does make a statement, but those portable toilets may be there for the Women's March on Washington, scheduled for the day after the inauguration. V

Good on You Helen. Like someone said yesterday on the news, the world will be different at the end of the week. We saw these toilets on the news while they were covering the name on the toilets.

It is good to see the capitol dome refurbishment is finished.
But I won't be celebrating here either.
