Tim to the rescue

Sahraa seems to have a serious problem with her pads when walking on treated snowy pavement, such as with salt or chemicals. Tim said since he’s been back that walking in this kind of weather is a few steps at a time.

Thank you for all the suggestions with the picture below. I had never thought of it, but perhaps petroleum jelly might be good to try, or Musher's Secret, which I had never heard of but will look for today. We got several kinds of boots for her in Budapest, and she couldn’t (and/or refused to) walk in them, so would like to find something else if possible.

Poor Sahraa... if there was only some way to get her to the park without having to tread on salted areas. Hopefully a solution will be found. Meantime, this photo just makes me say "awwww" and I want to give her a hug. V

Awww....poor girl. Della and Tug had the same problem when were were up at our condo at Jiminy Peak. They put so much sand and salt on the roads leading up to the ski area. The dogs were walking like they were stepping on hot coals. We went out and got some PAWZ. The are little rubber booties that look like balloons. They worked great for Della. Tug on the other hand had a freakout about putting them on his feet so he ended up just walking in the deep snow.
