Sahraa's normal pose for the camera

Santa gave Sahraa a light for her collar that flashes red or changes to various colors in succession. She looks so cute with it, I wanted to get a picture, but of course, she refused to cooperate. After the picture below was taken, she came inside, but every time I tried to take a picture, she would turn her back, look away, hide under a table or lie flat so the light wasn’t visible.

I should explain for those who haven't heard her story, that she was shot with an airgun while a puppy in Kuwait, leaving several pellets in her body (which we discovered in an X-ray in Riyadh) and a terror of anything being pointed at her, even a cell phone.

Sahraa models her Christmas present, posted earlier:

With the light at least no one will trip over her in the dark :-)

I doubt she'll ever get over such a horrific incident, and though it makes it difficult to get cooperative photos, you have achieved some beautiful images of her. V

Must be afraid of cameras! She's so pretty

Nothing like a good challenge! Maybe a New Year's resolution to find a way to get her over the fear of cameras - clicker training? A session with a dog trainer? It's so nice to have an ever present and COOPERATIVE 4-legged photo op!
