Casino, operated by Siletz Indians

Our first night we stayed at Chinook Winds, a casino/resort run by the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. I found these casinos quite interesting. Apparently Native Americans aren’t bound by state law on their reservations and are considered sovereign nations and so can operate places of gambling even in states where it’s prohibited. We also stopped at Spirit Mountain Casino on the way, which is much nicer, but they didn’t have any dog-friendly rooms.

My new ‘toy,’ posted earlier:

Well composed. It looks fun. We have a few Indian casinos nearby as well. V
