The usual supermarket scene

This is the usual scene outside supermarkets – drivers picking up women, their kids and their nannies and loading up the cars. The driver on the right had to pack three carts of groceries into the vehicle. The nanny is looking on, and the Saudi lady of the house came shortly after this and got into the car with her children.

This was taken from a large shopping mall, and there was another one kitty corner to it and enormous mall under construction across the street (which is what I was focusing on but have since cropped out). It’s hard to imagine how the huge number of malls in Riyadh survive, yet there are quite a few now being built. I guess they must do well since shopping is virtually the only form of entertainment here.

Great capture. On one hand the women may seem lucky due to having the nannies and the luxury of a driver, but on the other hand very oppressed because women can't drive. V
