Water tower view

Our house borders the park in which the two water towers are situated, although I can’t pick it out in this picture. At bottom is some of the huge amount of construction going on throughout the Diplomatic Quarter. Interestingly, though, houses that were completed when we arrived in 2013 still appear to be vacant. I have heard that the electricity grid isn’t sufficient in this area to support more usage (and the electric company isn't doing anything about it), so nobody can live in many of the new buildings.

I just realized this picture was taken about a week after we arrived in Saudi Arabia. It's hard to believe we've been here two-and-a-half years and that we'll be leaving this summer. Amazingly enough, I'll be sad to go...

Eating it up, posted earlier:

Glad to see all those trees in the neighborhood, and the water towers that make it all possible!

I always think water towers over here in the uk look a bit out of place. They are mostly concrete as these ones look. Nice composition, Helen.V

Lack of electricity in a rich country, unbelievable!
It does not seem 2 1/2 years you've been there, will miss pictures from there.
