Al-Wakrah, from a distance

On our way back to Doha we stopped at Al-Wakrah, a seaside town that had an old souk under restoration and a promenade full of outdoor cafés. Apparently it’s the “in” place for city folks to come and unwind. I tried to get some pictures of Qataris since most of my previous galleries of Doha are only architecture. It’s just hard to do that in a country where people don’t want to be photographed and you don’t want to draw any more attention to yourself than you already have. Anyway, I guess I got the backs of some people while there ;-).

Those boats are big - I wonder if they are fishing boats. I like this shot - lots of space with the low line of human activity V
