On the road, Marrakech to Essaouira

We said goodbye to Marrakech and drove to Essaouira, a fishing port and tourist town on the Atlantic Ocean. It was a pleasant drive through rolling hills and orchards of argan trees, from which a marvelous oil for cosmetic use comes.

Rostom, our driver, wanted his picture taken with the goats in this argan tree, and I was happy to oblige.

always nice to see this phenomenon, though how the trees survive it is a mystery; perhaps more carefully herded than is obvious
