On the road, Ait Benhaddou to Marrakech

After leaving Ait Benhaddou, we had to cross the High Atlas Mountains to get to Marrakech. The scenery was spectacular, but oddly enough I don’t have many pictures from that crossing. Maybe because we just couldn’t pull over on those narrow mountain roads. We did, however, stop for coffee at some restaurant and asked if they had any ice for Tim’s foot, which was swelling quite seriously by that time. They didn’t, but they gave us a big package of frozen brochettes for him. They wouldn’t even take any money for it. Simply amazing how kind the Moroccans could be.

The final picture in the Ait Benhaddou gallery, posted earlier:

What a fantastic landscape. If I did not know better, I would think that this was Colorado or other range in the US west. Lovely. V.

rugged terrain well caught...Tim is lucky, not everyone gets an ice pack they can later grill up for dinner and so soothe both foot and stomach...

The mountain scenery looks even nicer with the snowcapped peaks: spring is definitely the time to go, beautiful shot!
