We spent most of the day driving from the Sahara, in southeastern Morocco, to Ouarzazate, our somewhat boring stop for the night before reaching Marrakech.
We stopped at Todgha Gorge at the eastern end of the High Atlas Mountains. It’s quite popular with tourists and locals alike and reportedly offers excellent rock climbing. This part of the gorge, however, had a paved road running through it and was full of souvenir stands.
Souvenir heaven in the gorge. I have to admit I bought one of these Berber kilims (a pink one, 5th from right on bottom). It cost me $20.
