The Karaouiyine Mosque was established in 859 and is one of the oldest and most illustrious mosques in the western Muslim world. It was also the first university to be founded in Morocco and still remains the seat of the Muslim university of Fes.

This was taken on a totally different side of the mosque from the picture below, pretty much in a different neighborhood, the grounds were that extensive. I see I managed to get Tim in the picture carrying my camera bag (the Sherpa, as Sam would say).
