Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, courtyard

The Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, who ruled Morocco from 1672 to 1727, was built in the 17th century. It was a beautiful complex both inside and out, with its several courtyards, burial chamber, ablutions room, fountain and marvelous tile work and doors.

A door in one of the empty courtyards, which are decorated in a sober style, allowing visitors to leave behind them the hustle and bustle of the city.

This is very lovely. It does seem somber compared to the vibrancy of the other photos. V

The tone and the texture here is superb and in a excellent composition. Helen. The design of the tile is lovely. BV
