The Heri es-Souani, or Grainstore Stables, are considered to be one of the sultan’s finest creations.
These extensive stables are located just outside the granary building. I think our driver said they could accommodate like 1,000 horses, but I can't be sure about that. Whatever, Moulay Ismail seems to have done everything on a very grand scale. I read that he took a lot of stone from the ruins at Volubilis to build this city.
