The other side

Volubilis was settled and prospered under the Mauritanian kings, from the third century B.C. to 40 A.D., after which it was annexed by the Romans.

A different kind of countryside on the other side of the Roman ruins.

So lush and green, not what one expects, thus a delightful surprise. The scattering of pieces from the Roman ruins gives such a sense of antiquity to the image. V

A beautiful setting for a city - this is not how one thinks of Morocco !!

There is still some reconstruction to be done as all the scattered parts suggest.

A lovely landscape and it certainly doesn't look like Africa.
