After our weeklong adventure in Iceland, we spent six days in Copenhagen, a city that has never been high on my list of priorities, yet one that turned out to be a pleasant surprise and one that we should have visited sooner.
The thing I would have to say about Copenhagen is that it has maddeningly changeable weather – it would be brilliantly sunny one minute and pouring the next, and then back to sunshine, and then rain again. We, like everybody else, seemed to spend a lot of time huddled under shelter waiting for the showers to pass. It was also pretty windy and cool most of the time, but nothing like we encountered in Iceland.
Anyway, I don’t think I’m going to rush through this gallery like I did the Iceland one – in that case I was just so excited about showing people the natural wonders I had seen, but I think most everybody has some idea of what Copenhagen is like.
Ironically, I never did get a good picture of the city’s most famous landmark, The Little Mermaid statue, because both times I saw it, from land and from sea, there was a downpour ;-).
Oh, and there is a person up on that sail!
