Harpa (1)

Harpa, Reykjavík’s new concert hall and cultural center, is “an architectural beacon of prosperity in a post-crash economy,” according to Lonely Planet “Iceland.”

“Giving the Sydney Opera House a run for its money in both scope and allegory, Harpa dazzles the eye with an intricate lattice of convex and concave glass panels that sparkle like the switchboard of an alien spaceship at night.”

I don’t believe there was a single straight line on the exterior or inside the building, making it quite a challenge to photograph but a delight to see.

This is a superb view of this building. The part on the right, looks like a bee hive. Again, I like how you captured light hitting some panes and not other panes. Great. V.

Funny - my first thought was it's competing with the Sydney Opera House for "design-ness".

I have Always loved that typical Northern design you find in counties like Iceland an Sweden. This is such a great building referring to so many aspects of Iceland.
